Today:
A dry and bright start to the day, rather frosty through Dumfries, Galloway and the western Borders. However, cloud will thicken with some showery outbreaks of rain developing in the afternoon. Winds slowly freshening from the west or southwest. Maximum temperature 8 deg C (46 deg F).
Tonight:
Outbreaks of rain dying out through the evening, becoming mainly dry with clearing skies overnight. A touch of frost possible in shelter. However, showers still possible around North Sea coasts. Minimum temperature 1 deg C (34 deg F).
Friday:
Bright or sunny spells expected, but the cloud increasing at times with the risk of the odd shower, most of the showers in the east. Light north or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 9 deg C (48 deg F).
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Bright and sunny spells with scattered showers on Saturday and Sunday. Mostly cloudy on Monday with patchy rain, much of this light. Breezy at times.
